Camila Quiroz from Porzio Ríos García attended this year’s Chile Day 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto, Canada. More than 150 attendees, including representatives from the political and business worlds of Chile and Canada, filled the venue, highlighting the significance of this meeting, which is being held in Canada for the second time and aims to promote Chile as an attractive destination for investment and strengthen Chilean-Canadian commercial relations.
During the event, key topics such as Chile’s economic evolution over the past year were discussed, moving past constitutional challenges and focusing on new concerns like inflation, high interest rates, and governmental reforms. It was emphasized that, despite the challenges, Chile remains a solid market and a symbol of hope among emerging markets, with a clear direction to address current problems.
Additionally, the importance of infrastructure in the country’s development was highlighted, mentioning significant projects in bids and the need for facilities to care for water resources. The reform of sectoral permits was also addressed, promising to significantly reduce processing times, thereby facilitating foreign investment in key projects. This meeting reaffirmed Chile’s commitment to development and international cooperation.
